Faith Baptist Update

February 22, 2011

I thought I would take a few minutes and jot down a quick note of how things are going at Faith Baptist.  We have been there since the first of November, and in nearly four months of ministry we have seen some neat things happen in the church.  At the beginning of this year, we started a Sunday night Bible study in conjuction with a kids program.  Both efforts have been well received.  I know the Bible study has been an excellent reminder for us on the basic truths of God’s Word, while at the same time bringing out some points and perspectives that we may have not thought about before.  On Sunday morning I have been preaching through the book of 2 Corinthians.  We are already into chapter 5, and it has been a very timely study for the church.  Understanding the Biblical perspective on troubles as we have seen how Paul dealt with sorrow, sin and suffering has been wonderful.  In addition, we have been blessed to have visitors at church every Sunday for the last several weeks.

We came to the church for the task of helping them find a new pastor.  That task has not changed, but the church has decided to temporarily set that search on hold while we work on revising the church constitution.  Though I do not expect it to be particularly difficult or controversial, it will take some time to carefully and properly go through the process.  Though winter is still solidly settled, we are already getting ready for the summer ministries, with VBS, summer camp and the church picnic being some of the highlights ahead.  We appreciate your continued prayers for us and our efforts to assist the ministry of Faith Baptist.
